Utility Offers Rebates for HOTflow™ Heaters

June 3, 2011

HOTSTART’s HOTflow™ heaters are eligible for Avista Utilities’ new program for energy efficiency projects in commercial facilities. The Standby Generator Block Heater Program promotes the replacement of thermosiphon style engine block heaters with pump driven circulation units with an incentive of $400 per unit. HOTflow™ heaters can also be specified for new generator installations to bring facilities to a higher level of energy efficiency.

About HOTflow™ Technology
HOTflow™ engine heaters feature an integrated pump that circulates warm coolant throughout the entire engine at uniform temperatures. The heaters are designed to efficiently heat engines ranging in size from 15-100L displacement. Constant circulation of the coolant eliminates hotspots that can deteriorate heater hoses, harm engine seals and diminish coolant life. HOTflow™ heaters rely on fewer heating cycles – saving up to 2000 kilowatt-hours per year in energy consumption while extending heater element life and reducing maintenance work.

HOTflow™ engine heaters are available in multiple kW ratings, ranging from 1kW – 12kW. The product line features an adjustable thermostat (90°-130°F/32°-55°C) and is UL Listed and CE compliant. Equipping engines with HOTflow™ heaters ensures that gensets are warmed-up and ready-to-go during power failures. Reliable engine heating is critical in health care and commercial facilities, data centers and the telecommunication industry.

The Standby Generator Block Heater Program is currently only available through Avista Utiliites. Contact your local utility company to inquire about new incentive programs which can be implemented to promote energy efficiency in commercial facilities.
