Product Categories

UL C/US Systems designed for hazardous locations and designed to handle the largest engine heating applications.

The CLE model (UL C/US listed; Class 1, Div 1, Group D T3 or Class 1 Zone 1 Group IIA T3 depending on configuration) is HOTSTART’s large capacity coolant heating system designed for use in North American hazardous location applications. Its combination of heating power options (up to 36 kW) and pump power give it the capability to handle the largest engine heating applications. Its pre-packaged, plate-mounted configuration allows the heating system to be installed on the skid for operator access and its remote automatic function and customer interface connections simplify integration into an existing control system.

To improve equipment startability and availability, the CLE maintains a consistent and uniform temperature by circulating heated coolant throughout the engine block – eliminating hot spots and preventing overheating at engine shutdown. When compared to cold engine starts, maintaining optimal temperature during down time lowers NOx emissions at engine startup. Engine heating also eliminates the need for extended idling, reducing overall maintenance expenses.

In oil and gas applications, improving equipment availability and maintaining system readiness are critical factors in reducing expenses and improving the bottom line. In cold climates, HOTSTART heating systems ensure immediate startup on demand even in freezing temperatures. In warm, humid climates, HOTSTART systems maintain equipment above the dew point, eliminating the risk of condensation forming inside the heads during cool down periods.

Can be used in hazardous locations.
