Process Development Engineer
Hotstart designs, manufactures, and delivers thermal management solutions to customers in a variety of industrial equipment markets. We have an open position for an experienced engineer to join our Process Development & Introduction team in Spokane, Washington. We are looking for a talented and motivated candidate to expand and modernize our assembly and manufacturing process.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative manufacturing systems and equipment
- Project leadership for new process development and improvement efforts
- Streamline existing production processes through the use of robotics and automation
- Research new technologies for potential applicability and increased in-house expertise
- Support manufacturing and quality assurance teams to resolve process issues and concerns
- Collaborate with design engineering to optimize products for manufacturing
- Participate in prototype and initial production builds including providing hands on training.
- Generate documentation to support implementation of new processes and technologies
- Occasional travel to visit customer facilities, vendors, and field sites
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and ability to navigate challenges on the path to implementing final solutions
- Previous experience leading projects to design and implement custom machinery
- Previous experience with high volume manufacturing processes
- Ability to lead hands-on testing efforts, troubleshooting, and prototype builds
- Strong understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Previous experience with automation and robotics
- Advanced computer skills and previous experience with SolidWorks design software
- Willingness to share and teach previous experience and interests to elevate your co-workers
Education:
- BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 or more years of professional experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
