Hotstart expands Hazardous Location offerings

Jan 20, 2021

Spokane, Wash. January 20, 2021 – Hotstart is expanding its offerings of hazardous location certified products, bringing design and manufacturing expertise to additional industries beyond oil and gas heating applications.

Industries, applications, and customers around the world that require hazardous location certified equipment will benefit from Hotstart’s experience designing solutions that meet rigorous certification standards. For over 50 years Hotstart has been manufacturing hazardous location equipment for a wide range of standards including IECEx, ATEX, and UL C/US.

“Our customers in the oil and gas industry know Hotstart for high quality, reliable hazardous location equipment. It makes sense to build on this reputation and bring our expertise to other industries needing hazloc solutions,” said Pat Norwood, Sales Director – Hazardous Location. “Our experience with designing to certification standards sets us apart as a company. Finding opportunities in industries beyond our traditional customer base are key to expanding our hazardous location thermal management system offerings.”

Production environments deemed hazardous locations require equipment rated per specific Class and Division. Meeting these requirements ensures the equipment will prevent or reduce the risk of explosion while in operation. Hotstart has experience designing systems that meet Class 1, Div. 1 or Class 1, Div. 2 standards. These same standards can be applied to equipment designs for other applications including food, chemical, beverage, and other applicable industries.
